Bay Area Parenting Centers

A Parenting Center is a welcoming, community-based hub adjacent to Jewish preschools, designed to support families with young children—from 0 to 2 years old—and expecting parents, through connection, learning, and Jewish engagement. With funding and support from EarlyJ, these centers have been launched across the Bay Area as accessible entry points for families beginning their Jewish early childhood journey.

At its core, a Parenting Center offers a space where caregivers and expectant parents can connect, access resources, and feel supported—while also learning about local Jewish preschools and their communities. Programs, often led by experienced early childhood educators, may include:

  • Caregiver-child classes (e.g., playgroups, music, movement, sensory play)
  • Parent education and workshops on child development, behavior, and family life
  • Jewish learning and celebrations that introduce traditions and values in family-friendly ways
  • Social connection opportunities to build friendships and reduce isolation
  • Prenatal classes for expecting caregivers

Parenting Centers are inclusive and relationship-driven, offering a supportive on-ramp into Jewish early childhood education and deeper connection with local preschool communities.

Ultimately, the goal is to strengthen families, build community, and foster belonging—while supporting children’s development, caregiver confidence, and exploration of Jewish preschools in the area.
