“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world"

- Nelson Mandela

We are committed to uplifting priorities and programming that reflect the needs of our Jewish early childhood community and maintaining accountability toward our goals.

Our aim is to provide high-quality Jewish Early Childhood Education to 20-25% of Jewish families in the Bay Area. While the overall Jewish Early Childhood Education reach in the Bay Area is around 16%, we see even greater potential in certain regions, such as the East Bay. In 2017, the baseline reach in this area was just 5%. However, through targeted investments during our short pilot phase, the reach grew to 7%, reinforcing the power of strategically focused Jewish Early Childhood Education investments and the potential to reach our ambitious goals for this community.

These numbers are based on the 2017 Community Portrait conducted by The Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund, the report on East Bay Jewish Life conducted during the pilot phase, and the report on the Bay Area conducted in 2023 with the Koret Foundation.

As of 2021, our programs have amassed a 23% increase in the number of educators with an MA in ECE, a huge step towards improving teacher quality, educators’ career trajectories, and retention.

Moving forward, we will continue gathering data to assist in the development of a nuanced understanding of the Bay Area JECE needs and opportunities, identify measurable benchmarks, and evaluate our impact. More details coming soon!

"When we prioritize Jewish ECE, we ensure that the flame of our shared identity burns brightly for generations to come."
